Star in a Bra USA top thirty: Steph Dixon

It’s Thursday morning and that can only mean one thing; we’re more than half way to the weekend! It’s the final interview of the day and all is well in the world. time for a celebratory cup of tea.

Next up to share her words of wisdom and body confidence is Burlesque babe Steph Dixon.

Hi Steph, tell us about yourself!

I’m a super vivacious 24 year old born and raised in New York, spending the last 7 years in the best borough… Brooooooklyn! I’m a graduate student in Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture & herbs) which takes up most of my time but I work as a personal assistant as well. In between trimesters, I resurrect my old burlesque dancing acts and perform when I can, and when I get my life back after school I’ll be back creating new ones! I am quite tattooed but classy, and I really don’t plan on stopping anytime soon…hehehe. Otherwise, I am a huge music junkie; I love going to lots of shows and music festivals because you should spend money on what makes you happy, right? I also love traveling (as much as my schedule allows!) – I’ve just returned from a solo trip to Amsterdam and am headed back to Iceland with my best friend this summer. Basically, I’m a happy and well-adjusted girl who believes company is what makes life wonderful so I’m into doing anything with the people I love, whether it be watching awesomely cheesy sci-fi movies at home with some good vegan grub or spending hours exploring a neighborhood I’ve never been to because NYC is just THAT big!

You sound like a fun girl to be around! Why did you decide to enter the competition?

It’s an amazing chance to be able to encourage curvy ladies that they can do anything they set their mind to and look beautiful while doing it! I feel like any opportunity to get girls like us out in the limelight is a sort of win against stereotypical media images that are unattainable and unhealthy, so I’m super proud to even be one of the top 30.

The top 30 is a fabulous place to be and we’re glad to have you. Why do you think people should vote for you?

Ah! I know this is a hard but necessary question…

I feel like I would do a great job being a dynamic, confident, and fun Curvy Kate lady. Plus, I’m sweet as pie

Really though, it has brought me a lot of joy to represent curvy ladies in the Burlesque scene and I would love to translate that to women all over the world through print, specifically in gorgeous Curvy Kate lingerie!
