Star in a Bra USA top thirty: Krista Cousins

Somewhat of a Youtube star herself, next up in our string of interviews is Krista Cousins.
Hi Krista, please could you tell us about yourself?
My name is Krista Cousins, I’m 24 years old and I wear many hats! Not literally, of course. I’m currently a full time nanny and about to fulfill my long time ambition of attending graduate school this fall for an M.S in Speech-Language Pathology. However, I have a life-long love affair with the arts especially in relation to modeling, acting and fashion.
I am not easily described but the best attempt to grasp the concept of who I am is through contrasts. I’m an oxymoron: loud, yet quiet, smart yet airy occasionally, serious yet silly, it’s what makes me, me. I am very true to myself, and therefore true to others. I’m not afraid to be myself in every situation. When I know what I want, I go after it. I’m just a really simple, straight forward girl.
I’m a fairly intelligent girl [Nerd] who also loves to let her inner-child shine. I love to have discussions about things which I am passionate about. I am a kid at heart and sometimes there is nothing I’d rather do than watch some good old fashion bugs bunny cartoons from the 1930s, blow bubbles, ride the swings on the playground, fly kites or ride roller coasters. I have a variety of interests and passions which are not easily narrowed down.
Finally, I am very dissatisfied with the way women are portrayed in the media and I am passionate about changing it for the better.
That’s exactly what this competition is all about, Krista! Why did you decide to enter the competition?
Honestly, I entered on a whim! Upon moving to the most wonderful and opportunistic city in the world, I was greeted with many “No’s”, “You need to lose weight” or “you’re too short”. When my friend told me about the competition in passing, at first I figured I could never win. That was until I looked at the brand and the past competitions. Curvy Kate’s and my philosophy go together like PB&J. After being tired of no one looking like me on TV, and no store having my size Curvy Kate gave the proverbial “Z snap” and essentially spoke to me through this competition saying “Krista, it’s time!”
We love a good ‘Z snap’ – that made us laugh. But it’s true what you said, it’s all about inclusivity and we’re so glad that you agree. Now for the awkward question; why do you think people should vote for you?
Well it’s simple really, because I wear horizontal stripes, button-ups, strapless dresses and shockingly bright colors! Yes, I wear all the things those shiny, glossy magazines tell us bustier ladies not to wear. They tell us to wear all-black and one shoulder dresses to “draw the eye” away from the chest, but I say “No!”
Well, I’m tired of being told to hide my figure, to wear minimizers or to lose weight just so I can shop at you-know-where. As a representative of Curvy Kate I would make it my personal mission to make every woman (the one who cries in the dressing room when she realizes she needs a larger size but they don’t have it, the one who picks up a magazine and then decides to skip dinner, the one who wears large sweaters because strangers on the street won’t stop commenting on her large chest) feel and discover how truly beautiful she is. She doesn’t have to wear a bra that looks like something her grandmother wouldn’t even touch, but she also doesn’t have to force herself to wear an ill-fitted bra just to have a sexy style that doesn’t come in her actual size. The time for a beautiful, busty, body revolution is now and I am very prepared to lead us all to victory. ”
