Star in a Bra USA top thirty: Chelsea Hill

Written by Cheryl on May 14, 2012

Happy Monday everyone, and welcome back to our mini interviews with our gorgeous Star in a Bra USA top 30.

And who’s up first today? It’s the beautiful Chelsea Hill.

Good morning, Chelsea! Could you tell us about yourself.

Well hello there world! My name is Chelsea Hill, but you can call me Chels. I’m 20 years old and I live in San Jose, California. I have lived in the same house my whole life, and just recently my dad put our house up for sale. I’m undergoing a lot of change and I’m excited to step into a new adventurous chapter. Currently I am attending Ohlone College, studying general education so I can get my AA. Life is a big mystery, and I still don’t know what I want to do with it…but, I would love to be a baker in a small town and be able to own a cupcakery. My mother was the one who got me into baking and cooking, and it would bring me great joy to share what she taught me with everyone! I have a passion for psychology and child development. I’m also a part time nanny, and I enjoy my job. I tend to make people laugh in uncomfortable moments, and I can be very outgoing. I love to meet new people! For fun I like to do something spontaneous and different, I guess that’s part of the reason why I entered. As I said in my entry essay, I’m a major advocate for a body positive nation. I’ve always wanted to model, and I’m just thrilled to even be selected in the top thirty!

We’re right with you on encouraging a body positive nation. Why did you decide to enter the competition?

I guess I thought “Why not?” My whole life I’ve been scared to accomplish something great, because I believed I wasn’t good enough. That’s all changed now! I decided to get over my insecurities this past year, and grab the bull by the horns. My boyfriend was also a huge contributor of support, and is extremely excited for me. In the middle of my freshmen year of high school, I developed breasts practically overnight. I was verbally abused by many boys, and even some girls. These memories represent my purpose to this competition even greater than before! Now I have a chance of showing girls like me, that you are beautiful no matter what clothes you wear, what size you are, and what culture you come from. I mainly entered this competition for myself and for my mother. She has been gone almost 11 years and because of losing her support, I’ve found it difficult to love myself and appreciate what my mom has given to me physically. Even though my mother is not here to support me in this contest, I know she would have been very proud of my decision to enter. I’m proud to say I love myself and my body! My mother gave me a banging body and I want to share it!

We’re sure she’s extremely proud. What a beautiful reason to enter! Finally, why do you think people should vote for you?

I think that any votes I receive would be wonderful, and I’d be grateful for making it this far. If you decide that I am Curvy Kate worthy, then vote for me! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I know that I’ll represent all curvy women with passion, honesty, confidence, class, respect and most of all fun! Thank you judges for taking me on this wild ride, I just need the public to send me to New York!! <3

We want to go to NYC too! Do you think Chelsea deserves your vote? Still not sure? Don’t worry, you’ve got until the 24th May and we still have 23 girls to hear from!

You have three votes to use, and to cast your vote visit the Star In A Bra website or go to application on the Curvy Kate USA Facebook page.

Next up today is Catherine Hendrick.
